A fantastic field of cars in every class and a super-fast race track that saw the TQ's one lap track record tumble early in the night. Racing through the heats was hectic with a couple of surprise results, including Michael Pickens having some trouble so being set to start out of grid 9 in the BT Memorial Series feature race.
We have just had clearance to supply a Livestream out of Western Springs for tonights meeting. Although tests have been run this afternoon be aware that this has come together very late. Although we are not planning anything to go wrong please make your purchase with full knowledge of this criteria.
For $29.95 hook in from 5.30 pm via our website and join the NZ Daltons Sprintcar GP and BT Memorial Midget Car Series - Round 1.
Two days to go to the Daltons New Zealand Sprintcar Grand Prix. As you can see we have a fantastic entry list and are guaranteed a great night of Sprintcar action. With heavy rain forecast for Auckland over the next couple of days we should get plenty of natural watering making for an ideal Sprintcar track.
The season opened on Saturday with full fields in every class and a bumper crowd in the house to enjoy the racing. Aside from some first night teething problems, the most significant being a glitch in the public PA system (which worked perfectly in testing then failed on the night) we all enjoyed a great nights entertainment.
The track staff have been working hard all week to set the track after all the rain early in the week and now have been watering the track all day to get enough moisture back into it "only in Auckland".
After spending last weekend holding our breath and crossing our fingers only to see the rain continue to roll in, everything is now all set to kick off this Saturday night.
Unfortunately the weather has beaten us again - although we believe the track could have been saved, all the surrounding parking areas are water logged and the latest Metservice update shows more rain coming through the late afternoon and into the evening.
So next Saturday night (November 14) will be our Grand Opening and Fireworks meeting combined with our Services Dedication night. All classes will be running.
Tonight's opening meeting has been been postponed due to rain until 5pm tomorrow, Sunday 8th November. See you all there!
